What is the difference between a storage unit and a vault?

The difference really is about the level of access and security. Our storage units have 24/7 access and are located on the ground floor. Our vaults are open during normal working hours and are located upstairs in a high security, indoors facility.  

How can I pay for my self-storage?

Storage Mart Also accepts RTGS transfers from your bank to ours and we can accept Zimswitch as well as cash.

What is the best way to pack my goods in the storage unit?

Always place a large heavy items that you can stack up at the rear of the unit and work towards the front with lighter and more fragile items. Always pack square items with each other and put soft furnishings and items that do not weigh very much on top of other boxes. Don’t forget to leave some space as you open the roller door and make sure that the items that you’re going to access readily are near the front of the space.

Why do I need to buy extra insurance?

We do not automatically ensure your goods at StorageMart.  In the unlikely event that something should happen to your goods you would be responsible as you are solely responsible for the storage of your goods. We do offer additional insurance policies so please chat to our knowledgeable staff to help guide you.

What can't I store in my storage unit?

Any goods that are illegal, living, stolen, flammable, explosive, hazardous, environmentally harmful, perishable or that are risk to the property of any person. .

Do you have packaging materials available for purchase?

Moving your things from home to your storage unit (or just from place to place) is a breeze thanks to our wide range of moving supplies. With boxes, moving blankets, tape, bubble wrap and more, we have everything you need to keep your items safe and organised while in transit.
